(G)I-DLE gave their all to their fans, although they had to return with only five members.

U-Cube successfully launched a hit girl group when (G)I-DLE arrived with their debut single, Latata. Their first project immediately caused people to call them “monster rookies” since they became one of the most successful K-pop groups that do not come from K-pop’s big three labels.

(G)I-DLE originally debuted as a six-membered group. But despite their success, they faced their first hurdle when Soojin departed from the group in August.

Although they only have five members now, (G)I-DLE members poured everything they have in the recent comeback to give their fans the best album.

(G)I-DLE Officially Returns After a Year

On Monday, the K-pop girl group held an online showcase to celebrate the release of their first full-length album, I NEVER DIE.

(G)I-DLE waited for over a year before the comeback happened, and the members revealed the preparations they made for their fans. According to the group’s leader, Jeon Soyeon, they made the album while treating it as if they were debuting again. She added that they carefully reviewed what concept would be the best for them to highlight that they have matured.

“It’s an album that captures our thoughts and feelings about all of the world’s prejudices. We wanted to face the world without backing down and make an album that proves our value,” she added.

As for the album’s title track, Jeon Soyeon said TOMBOY highlights the members’ unique and bold attitude. She also hinted at its blunt and direct lyrics as they deliver an important message to fans.

Meanwhile, Miyeon said that the song’s music video is not a cliché one where the female lead gets hurt by someone she loves. She then asked everyone to watch the whole music video so they could have its lasting impression.

(G)I-DLE to Highlight Members’ Talents in New Album

In the first full-length album, Minnie and Yuqi dropped their first-ever self-composed songs.

Shuhua said that MY BAG is the first song where all the members show their rapping. She added that she wants to become a cool rapper like Jeon Soyeon in the future.

“Since I’m originally good at rapping, I thought, ‘I’ve finally gotten an opportunity.’ I did so well, to the point where I thought that it might be time for me to switch positions [from vocal to rap],” Yuqi shared.

(G)I-DLE has since released their new music video, and their fans could not wait to see them again on stage.
