Ghostbusters Sequel Director Teases An Incoming Surprise

Ghostbusters fans were pretty surprised when the news came out that the son of Ivan Reitman, the director of the original Ghostbusters, was working on a direct sequel to the film. Not only was the news unexpected, but the announcement came with a short teaser for the film, promising fans a return to the tone and form of the original movie.

Now, Ghostbusters sequel director Jason Reitman promises another major surprise for the fanbase. Wizard World is hosting a special Ghostbusters fan fest to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the original film. The festival is set to take place this Saturday at the Sony Pictures Studio lot in Los Angeles and the original Ghostbusters stars Dan Aykryod, Ernie Hudson, and William Atherton are set to appear in the event together with songwriter Ray Parker and director Ivan Reitman. Various members of the Ghostbusters franchise outside of the films (like The Real Ghostbusters animated series) are also set to appear at the event.

Taking to Twitter, Jason Reitman teases fans saying that he's bringing his own surprise to the convention.

Check out the post down here:

"Working on a little surprise for this Saturday's Ghostbusters Fan Fest. See you on the lot," Reitman wrote on the social media site, sharing a clip taken from an outtake from the original Ghostbusters movie.

Right now we're not quite entirely sure what this surprise might be, but we're guessing that Reitman might be bringing with him the full trailer for his Ghostbusters sequel. That, or he's bringing new info about the movie.

The new Ghostbusters movie is set to release on July 10, 2020.
