Ghostbusters 2020 Director Teases the Ecto-1

There are only so many iconic vehicles in cinema from the DeLorean in Back to the Future to Batman's Batmobile. Ghostbusters had the Ecto-1, and the car is set to make a return in GB2020 next year. What's cool is, director Jason Reitman teases the return of the car with this new image:

Of course, we all knew the Ecto-1 was going to make a return since the first teaser for the film, but I guess this one has the car back on the street. In the teaser, it looked like it was broken down and stored in a barn.

Production has just recently started for the film, and we already have an image of the main cast including Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and McKenna Grace. While nothing official has been confirmed, it could be that the family is relatives of Egon Spengler, what with the black, curly hair, and thick glasses. My guess is that Spengler is the grandfather of these kids and that the father is his son.

Of course, nothing has been confirmed, but with actor Harold Ramis being the only original Ghostbuster who can't come back to reprise his role, it would be neat if they focused on Egon's family instead, in a way to keep them in the film.

What are the odds that grandma Spengler is the original Ghostbusters receptionist Janine (Annie Potts)?

We don't know when we'll get our first teaser for the movie, but with a summer 2020 release date, it's likely it will release early next year.

For now, Ghostbusters 2020 is set to come out July 10, 2020.
