Now that the second to the last season of HBO's fantasy epic is set to release on the small screen, it looks like Game of Thrones is slowly coming to an end. While it sounds disconcerting that the phenomenal television is going to close in two more seasons time, the network's already started working on the series' five spin-off shows.
Now, with Game of Thrones season 7 drawing closer to its premiere it looks like Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin has a new update on the upcoming spin-offs. Taking to his online journal Not A Blog, Martin wrote about the Game of Thrones spinoffs and the different projects that he'll be working on soon.
"The five successor shows are moving forward at various rates of speed and there are a couple other TV projects that I can't tell you about … how much of this will come to pass, nobody knows. Ah, the joys of development …"
There's a lot of mystery on what these "other TV projects" are, however Game of Thrones fans ought to be glad that the spinoff series productions are going on pretty smoothly. Of course Martin while would never reveal what the spinoffs are all about, it's good to know that the production is moving forward.
Game of Thrones season 7 hits HBO on July 16.
