Lucas topped Forbes' list of the World's Richest Celebrity Billionaires of 2024. He has an estimated net worth of $5.5 billion.

The 79-year-old filmmaker topped the ranking in the list thanks in large part to Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012 where he earned more than $4 billion in cash and stock.

It is impressive that Lucas was able to top the list despite not directing any films since Revenge of the Sith in 2005 and it helps that the Star Wars franchise remains to be a massive lucrative IP.

Lucas has also rarely made public appearances in the past several years aside from set visits in various Star Wars productions and attending red-carpet premieres.

Recently, he made some rounds as he showed his support for Disney in their proxy battle against activist investor Nelson Peltz. His backing of the company's current leadership was significant since he is the largest individual shareholder.

Ranking number two on the list is Lucas' friend and fellow filmmaker, Steven Spielberg, who has an estimated net worth of $4.8 billion.

The rest of the list is filled with well-known entertainment and sports figures such as Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, Jay-Z, Kim Kardashian, Peter Jackson, Tyler Perry, Rihanna, LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Dick Wolf, and Taylor Swift.
