George R.R. Martin’s Nightflyers Gets Creepy New Teaser

There's a new George R.R. Martin series in town, and it has nothing to do with the fantasy epic, Game of Thrones.

Syfy just released a new teaser for Nightflyers, its upcoming science-fiction horror series based on Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin's 1980 novella and subsequent short stories of the same name. Dark and unsettling, the 30-second teaser flashes terrifying images of horror and a clip of a creepy little girl listing down words like blood, kill, hate in a seething voice. Seems like someone's off to do some ill-bidding.

For those who aren't familiar with Martin's Nightflyers novella, the series adaptation follows the story of eight scientists as well as a powerful telepath who go on their journey to cross the end of the solar system so that they can make contact with ancient, nomadic aliens.

However, as they journey across space, the group discover a horror on board their ship. Manned by a small crew and quiet, reclusive captain, the group becomes victim to an unseen force that starts picking at them, one by one.

The series brings together Gretchen Mol, Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Sam Strike, Maya Eshet, Angus Sampson, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Brian F. O'Byrne. Nightflyers doesn't have a release date just yet, but we'll let everyone know as soon as we get word.
