Game Of Thrones Season 8 Theory Explains Why Daenerys Targaryen Will Lose Her Dragons

The final season of Game of Thrones is almost here and although fans are excited about it, there is also fear for certain characters. After all, Season 8 is expected to have a huge body count, thanks to the Battle of Winterfell where everyone will need to fight the White Walker army. But what are the chances that Daenerys Targaryen will actually lose her dragons early on? A new theory suggests that this was already hinted at in the second season and there is nothing that their mother can do about it.

The Game of Thrones Season 8 theory points out that Daenerys' visions in the episode Valar Morghulis in the second season somehow foretold what would happen in the end. While lost in the House of the Undying in search of her dragons, Dany finds Khal Drogo along with their stillborn son Rhaego. However, she immediately leaves them when she hears her dragons crying.

Although Dany eventually found and rescued her dragons, things might not work this way in Season 8. There are already speculations that she will become pregnant with Jon Snow's child and this time, Dany might choose her new child over the dragons. Unfortunately, this could mean that Drogon and Rhaegal will be abandoned for a human child.

This isn't the only theory that purports about the death of the dragons. Some believe that the only way for the Seven Kingdoms to be saved is when all magic dies in Westeros. This means the Night King, the White Walkers, and yes, the dragons. With all the magical entities gone, Westeros can finally thrive under the care of a new non-magical ruler.

These are certainly somber predictions and we still have hope for a bittersweet ending in the final season. For now, we recommend taking this with a grain of salt.

Game of Thrones Season 8 will air on HBO on April 14.
