The sixth season of Game of Thrones saw the death of Hodor (played by Kristian Nain) and fans were devastated to watch that scene but is there a way for the character to return to the HBO series?
Hodor was in charge of keeping Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) safe while he journeyed around North but he died after their group was ambushed by Wights.
Hodor insisted that his friends run to safety while he stood at a door holding back the undead.
HBO
Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick) kept telling him to "Hold the door!" which meant they escaped, but it was too late for Hodor. He died protecting Bran and it revealed the reason why he could only say "Hodor".
Hodor died as the Wights consumed her body.
However, that might not be the end of Hodor.
Redditor Bigyeezytime brought up a theory that Hodor could have been turned into a Wight, after being attacked by the Wights.
"When he was killed by the wights, his body was never burned," the Reddit user wrote. "Hodor has probably risen again as a Wight and we are going to see him fight against the Starks in season eight."
Samwell Tarley once said that "only fire will stop them." This led a lot of fans to speculate that since we never saw Hodor's body burned, he's going to return as one of the blue-eyed undead, fighting the Starks.
It will probably be heartbreaking to see Bran face off a zombified Hodor when the Wights march against Winterfell.
Game of Thrones Season 8 is coming this April
