Game of Thrones' Richard Madden Being Eyed for Mad Max: Furiosa

Richard Madden has been gone from Game of Thrones for a while, but he's been doing a lot of great work with shows like Bodyguard and Marvel's upcoming Eternals. What's great is, Madden is supposedly being eyed for an upcoming Mad Max spinoff.

According to The GWW, Madden is being eyed to play "a breathtakingly handsome man with an angel's face that is scarred by a deep forehead wound stitched together with shiny chrome staples," for Mad Max: Furiosa. We don't have any more details on that, but if you know your Borderlands, it kind of sounds like Madden is going to play this world's version of Handsome Jack.

Besides Madden, the movie is said to be eyeing Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) to play the part of a young Furiosa, with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen, Aquaman) also in the wishlist for a role in the movie.

This is just my own curiosity, but I'm wondering where the actual Mad Max will be in all of this. Though Tom Hardy was kind of sidelined in Fury Road, I think it's still essential that he be part of the film, or at least make a cameo. If anything, they should find a way to market this film without Max in the title. Maybe they can just name it Furiosa, but that's just my idea.

No release date has been set for this Mad Max spinoff prequel, but hopefully, we get some kind of announcement soon. After the success of Fury Road, it's kind of weird that we haven't gotten a sequel since then.
