Game of Thrones May See a Bigger Role in the War for Arya

The battles and clashes in Game of Thrones have always been about different houses facing off against another. That's why, the end of the sixth season felt like the brewing war was directed at the wrong place, and only House Stark had any idea of the real danger that lurks beyond the wall.

Showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have already teased that the Great War will come. But even though it seems like every house is gearing up for war against each other, HBO Nordic's Facebook may be teasing that the key characters in the show may be gearing up for the battle with the Night King instead.

The teaser above is interesting in that it features the blade that had been recently seen on Arya's person. The blade is powerful, if only because it's forged from Valyrian steel, one that was previously used in the attempted murder of Bran Stark back in season one.

Considering how Maisie Williams's character now has possession of the blade somehow in Game of Thrones season 7, that makes two Starks already in possession of a powerful weapon against the White Walkers. For the first time, we're finally seeing the Starks have greater power together, far from when they were first introduced to the show, grieving and torn apart following Ned Stark's death.

Even Sansa's showing a little moxie after being exposed to the harsh realities of life, so I'm sure she can stand on the same ground, or even higher, with her siblings. Where the war goes from here, and better yet, where we'll see the Starks on the great battlefield, we'll have to wait and see.

Game of Thrones will be back on HBO this July.
