Jon Snow knows something - the Game of Thrones sequel about Snow is in development.

It has been a couple of months since the last season of the Game of Thrones ended, and fans have been craving more stories about our heroes ever since. There have been many rumors about the alleged potential spin-offs from the main series (like The Sea Snake, Dunk and Egg, and Ten Thousand Ships) but only the House of the Dragon remained confirmed. Finally, HBO recently announced that an untitled series focusing on Jon Snow’s story is in the works. Here is everything we know about the brand-new sequel.

A young Jon Snow

The latest report about the Game of Thrones Sequel featuring Jon Snow shows that the series is currently in the early development process. There is still no information about the release date of the Game of Thrones sequel. The prequel for the hit series called the House of the Dragon was announced in 2019 and has only recently completed production in February 2022. The prequel faced many delays, including the pandemic, but we can expect the sequel to also be in production for a relatively long time, especially because it is a big production.

There are many rumors about Game of Thrones spin-offs that will potentially be released, but so far, only the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragons and this untitled sequel are confirmed and in production.

Will Jon Snow be the King Beyond the Wall?

Kit Harington, who played the iconic role of Jon Snow in all of the eight seasons of the original Game of Thrones, will return to play the same character who stars in the untitled sequel. After the last season of the Game of Thrones ended, Harington remained busy with various projects, such as playing the lead role in the live stage production of Henry V. He has also entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Black Knight in the movie Eternals.

We still do not know who the other returning characters in the show are, so we have to wait for further announcements on which actors we will see again in the show. Based on who survived the last season of Game of Thrones, we can make initial guesses about who will return.

We may expect to see the surviving Stark siblings return to support Jon Snow, including Sophie Turner, who may return as Sansa, Maisie Williams, who may still play as Arya, and Isaac Hempstead Wright, who may return as Bran. We assume that Kristofer Hivju, who played Tormund Giantsbane in Game of Thrones, will return to stay by Jon Snow’s side.

The dead characters are never really forgotten (and hardly ever remain dead) in the Game of Thrones universe, so we may still see some of our favorite characters even if they have died in the earlier seasons. These characters may come back through flashbacks or may be brought back to life using magic. We hope to see Rose Leslie as Ygritte and maybe even have Emilia Clarke return as Daenerys Stormborn along with Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister.

We still have no information about who will be directing and writing the episodes for the new Game of Thrones spin-off. Because the series will also be produced by HBO, who also produced the first series, we may see some of the original members of the crew continue creating.

George R.R. Martin will still surely play a big role in the development of the series because the entire premise of the Game of Thrones universe is based on his novels. We may also still see the prolific writers of the first series, such as David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, return to weave together another mysterious and complicated plot for Jon Snow.

The death of Jon Snow

There is still no definite information about the plot of the new Game of Thrones sequel, but we know that it will be focusing on Jon Snow. By the end of Game of Thrones season 8, Jon Snow leaves the complicated life in Westeros and travels back beyond the Wall with the Wildlings. If the sequel picks up from where the first season ended, we can assume that the plot will involve some conflict with the Wildlings. We may also see a storyline where events in Westeros pull Snow back into the kingdom.
