Game Of Thrones’ Final Battle Is Going To Be The Biggest That Television’s Ever Seen

It's going to be a long and hard fight against the dead in the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, and it looks like the series' production is putting everything into making the series' final battle the biggest that anyone's ever seen on television.

Game of Thrones may have given television some pretty iconic battles like the Battle of Blackwater Bay in season 2 and the Battle of the Bastards in season 7, but it looks like HBO is planning to blow everyone away with the big finale for season 8.

Not only did it reportedly it take 55 days for the production team to film the climactic battle of the new season of Game of Thrones (twice the time it took episode director Miguel Sapochnick to work on the Battle of the Bastards) but Entertainment Weekly says that it took even longer to film the episode.

"This wildly understated what really happened," the publication writes. "The 55 nights were only for the battle's outdoor scenes at the Winterfell set. Filming then moved into the studio, where Sapochnik continued shooting the same battle for weeks after that."

Peter Dinklage, the star who plays Tyrion Lannister on the show, doesn't try to undersell the fight at all.

"It's brutal," said the actor. "It makes the Battle of the Bastards look like a theme park."

Game of Thrones fans certainly have a lot to look forward to next year. The series has always had epic episodes but we can't wait to see how HBO's going to close the fantasy series.

Season 8 of Game of Thrones is expected to debut in the latter half of 2019.
