Game of Thrones Actress Says Septa Unella Waterboarding Happened for REAL

There is little doubt that Septa Unella's shocking fate was very satisfying for Game of Thrones fans. However, it looks like the torture was too real for Hannah Waddingham. The actress has just revealed that she was actually waterboarded while filming the scene with Lena Headey.

Waddingham recently spoke to Collider where she discussed what really happened when Cersei Lannister finally got her hands on Septa Unella and immediately went to work in taking her revenge on the woman.

"I was strapped to a wooden table with proper big straps for 10 hours," Waddingham said. "And definitely, other than childbirth, it was the worst day of my life."

Not surprisingly, Waddingham confirmed that Headey didn't like the idea of having to treat her co-star that way.

"Lena was uncomfortable pouring liquid in my face for that long, and I was beside myself. But in those moments you have to think, do you serve the piece and get on with it or do you chicken out and go, ‘No, this isn't what I signed up for, blah, blah, blah?'" she said.

It certainly sounds like Waddingham had a terrible time filming the sequence. Nevertheless, it turned out to be one of the most memorable scenes in the series. We're just hoping that Waddingham doesn't have to go through the same thing over again soon.
