Game of Thrones Princess Nymeria Spin-Off 10,000 Ships in Development at HBO

We're still waiting for House of the Dragon but it looks like another Game of Thrones spin-off series is now in development. It has been confirmed that a new show focusing on the legendary Princess Nymeria is currently in the works at HBO.

Deadline reports that Person of Interest's Amanda Segel has been tapped to write the screenplay for 10,000 Ships, the new Game of Thrones spin-off that will tell the story of the warrior princess. Although details have not yet been revealed, the new show is one of three spin-offs that are being planned by HBO.

Princess Nymeria hardly needs an introduction. After all, she is one of the best-known characters in A Song of Ice and Fire, her story being passed down as an amazing legend throughout Westeros. The princess of the Rhoynar led thousands of ships out of the Rhoyne and found her way to Dorne where she ruled with her husband Lord Mors Martell.

Nymeria may not have been in Game of Thrones but she had two namesakes in the series. Arya Stark named her direwolf after the princess and the Sand Snake Nym was named after her as well. At one point, Arya even mentioned the princess herself.

For now, 10,000 Ships is still in development. However, we're expecting to get new details about the series in the following weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

The Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon is currently in production and is set to premiere on HBO in 2022.
