To a lot of fans, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot is seen as a symbol of hope, inspiration, and empowerment, and thanks to her role as Diana Prince in the DC Extended Universe, the actress has managed to inspire a lot of people but in a stunning turn of events, the actress is the latest celebrity to get "canceled" on social media and she is coming under fire amid the growing tension and conflict between Israel and Gaza.

The Israeli actress who has been a strong advocate of peace took to Twitter to voice her concern over the crisis taking place in her home country and Gaza. In a tweet, the DC star wrote: "My heart breaks. My country is at war. I worry for my family, my friends. I worry for my people. This is a vicious cycle that has been going on for far too long. Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation, our neighbors deserve the same. I pray for the victims and their families, I pray for this unimaginable hostility to end, I pray for our leaders to find the solution so we could live side by side in peace. I pray for better days."

Gadot, who served two years in the Israel Defense Forces is being criticized for "supporting" Israel's actions and not acknowledging Palestine which she referred to as their "neighbors". Naturally, fans took to the social media platform to lambast the actress for her "hypocritical" statement with some people even going as far as calling her a zionist. Check out some of the reactions below:

I'm not saying that I know better but I'm pretty sure the intentions of Gal's emotional statement are pure. If anything, now is not the time to point fingers and be divided. Canceling Gadot on social media isn't going to do anything and more importantly, it's not going to help ease the crisis in Israel and Gaza. Let's just stop all of the unnecessary hate and pray for both countries during this difficult and horrifying time. We all deserve peace.

Gal Gadot last appeared on Wonder Woman 1984.
