Gael Garcia Bernal Wants to Join Diego Luna's Cassian Andor Series

We still don't know much about Cassian Andor so what are the chances that the Rebel Alliance officer has a brother? Gael Garcia Bernal hopes he does and thinks he's the best candidate for the role in the Star Wars series.

It's no secret that Bernal is good friends with Diego Luna. The two actors have worked together on several projects starting with 2001's Y Tu Mama Tambien. So it's no surprise that Bernal is eager to join the Star Wars Universe, more specifically Luna's Andor series on Disney+.

"If Cassian Andor ever needs to find his lost brother or something, then maybe they can call me," Bernal told The Independent. Interestingly, he's ready to play a villain as well as long as it means working with Luna again.

"Or his antagonist. That would be cool actually! In a galaxy far away! I mean, I am curious. If something comes along that is interesting like that… I would consider it, I guess," Bernal said.

We're loving the idea of Bernal and Luna appearing in the Star Wars project together. For now, it's unclear if Cassian does have a brother or if the Andor series is still casting for an antagonist. Nevertheless, we're hoping that Bernal gets to join the Star Wars Universe as well.

Andor is set five years before the events in Rogue One and will bring back Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma as well as Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera. New cast members include Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Robert Emms. The series will premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
