Big things are happening for the highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series. A new report has just revealed that the Star Wars show is introducing a young Princess Leia who will be played by Bird Box actress Vivien Lyra Blair.
Fans have been expecting to see a young Luke Skywalker in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series considering that the show will be set in Tatooine. In addition to that, Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse are already set to return as Owen and Beru Lars so it would make sense for a little Luke to be running around their farm.
Interestingly, it looks like Luke's twin will also be featured in the series. Cinelinx confirms that Blair has been cast as the little Princess Leia. Blair is best known for turning in an amazing performance in Netflix's Bird Box where she played Girl.
This isn't the first time that another actor will be playing Princess Leia after Carrie Fisher's unfortunate passing. Ingvild Deila played the princess in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story while Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd appeared as Leia in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Fisher's image was superimposed in both performances.
Princess Leia's possible appearance in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series is certainly an interesting thought considering that she is being raised by Senator Bail Organa. With that in mind, we could be seeing how Senator Organa has been dealing with the rise of the Rebellion all this time.
For now, it has not yet been revealed who will be playing the young Luke. However, there is a possibility that the role has already been cast and is being kept secret. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi has not yet been given an official release date. However, it is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
