After reclaiming space in the spotlight for portraying Tommy Miller in HBO’s hit drama, The Last of Us, fans are still asking if Gabriel Luna is likely to return as Robbie Reyes, aka Ghost Rider, for Marvel.
Luna first played the MCU character in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In 2019, a rumor of his spinoff surfaced, but until now, no news has been made about the project.
Recently, sitting down with Forbes, Luna got candid and said that he has been constantly asked about returning to the MCU, and he’s always been open to doing so.
“Oh, I love that character. It was really special. It feels like the demand may be there and if the creative is there and it makes sense…” the actor said.
He added: “I think with Marvel right now, it’s so intricately woven that it would be a few years out if they started to think about it, to do the character. I’m always open.”

In the past, the Matador star had always been honest in responding about his possible MCU comeback, and nothing has changed as he expresses more enthusiasm for reprising the role.
“My stock answer used to be, ‘I loved what we did, I’m very happy with what we accomplished and I can be happy leaving it on the shelf and admiring what we did and have the audience remember it fondly, the way they do. To do the character again just gives me another opportunity to screw it up,’" explained Luna.
He continued: “So there’s that mindset, but now I feel that I’m a lot more open should it come around. If it makes sense, I’m more than happy to… I try to keep myself in shape, Arnold [Schwarzenegger] demands it. So I’m still certainly physically capable of doing it and if it’s a great story and they’d have me, of course.”
Luna is currently starring in Schwarzenegger's upcoming Netflix series, FUBAR. Hopefully, once he's done with this, the Marvel executives will reach out and discuss his future as Ghost Rider.
