Shinsegae Department Store Company responded to the rumors claiming BIGBANG’s G-Dragon is dating its president’s granddaughter.
Chinese fans started the buzz when they shared alleged proof of the duo’s relationship in online communities. The forum, posted on Jan. 9, included photos uploaded by a woman who reportedly attended a Street Man Fighter concert in Seoul.
Unnamed sources said that the woman is the granddaughter of Shinsegae Chairperson Lee Myung Hee.
After the buzz came out, the company’s representative set the record straight in a statement.

Is G-Dragon Dating Shinsegae President’s Granddaughter?
In the statement shared by The Korea Times and Yonhap News Agency Tuesday, a spokesperson for the retail giant dismissed the claims that G-Dragon is romantically involved with its chairperson’s granddaughter.
"It is absolutely not true," a Shinsegae official said of the dating rumor. "We are offering an official statement to correct the wrong information following a string of indiscriminate and speculative reports.”

The representative added that the two indeed went to a concert together, but they were reportedly with their respective friends. The spokesperson said the granddaughter only shared the photo since she is a fan of That XX singer.
It also asked the media not to post speculative reporting to avoid further rumors.
"It is absolutely not true," a Shinsegae official said of the dating rumor. "We are offering an official statement to correct the wrong information following a string of indiscriminate and speculative reports," the official said.
G-Dragon’s Dating Rumors in The Past Years Explored
After the recent dating rumor, the BIGBANG member’s past dating buzzes also reemerged.
Previously, G-Dragon was linked to Wonder Girls’ Ahn So Hee, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, former (f)x member Sulli, former KARA member Goo Hara, former After School member Jooyeon, and former 2NE1 member Dara.
He was also linked to Japanese model Kiko Mizuhara and actress Komatsu Nana.
However, he never confirmed any of these relationships.
