After weeks of speculations, G-Dragon has officially released his cover of Elvis Presley’s song, “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”

G-Dragon dropped the song on his YouTube channel on Sunday, July 18. As expected, many received the track very well, praising and congratulating the Big Bang member for his new release.

So far, his music video for the Presley cover song is the only clip that can be seen on his YouTube channel.

As of this writing, it already has more than 350,000 views and over 8,450 comments that continuously grow.

The two-minute-30-second clip started with a soft piano with a ballad version of the track. He then surprised the listeners when the tune switched up mid-song.

From a classic love song, G-Dragon turned it into a frenetic rock ballad only he could do.

He also shared the music video on Instagram and captioned it with, “‘ELVIS’ : Can't Help Falling in Love #TCB. Brought to you by Me & @bazluhrmann @elvismovie,” along with the YouTube link.

G-Dragon’s Can’t Help Falling in Love Teasers

Before G-Dragon officially dropped the music video for his “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” he was dropping hints and teasers of this new project in collaboration with the Elvis biopic movie director Baz Luhrmann.

He released a 47-second clip featuring the visuals of the late King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, while his smooth vocals and piano instrumentals could be heard in the background.

“GD + EP + BL = TCB,” the caption read.

The acronyms seem to stand for the names of G-Dragon, Elvis Presley and Baz Luhrmann, while the TCB means “Taking Care of Business,” which is the name of Presley’s band, per Hypebae.

Prior to this post, he also shared cryptic shots of Presley’s image, a graphic shirt of the music icon and a belt similar to what the late pop artist donned.

Luhrmann himself subtly confirmed the collaboration when he commented, “GD + EP = TCB,” which was similar to G-Dragon’s caption.

Luhrmann, Hinting at a New Elvis Presley Project with G-Dragon

G-Dragon’s latest cover of a Presley song is the latest in a series of teasers Luhrmann has dropped about an Elvis movie album.

In an interview with MBC News, the Australian director revealed he was working with “K-pop icons” on new music.

Though he didn’t reveal any names, rumors were strong that he would collaborate with G-Dragon and BLACKPINK’s Lisa after the King of K-pop shared several posts and stories with the two and Presley’s images.

In the same interview, Luhrmann revealed Presley had “direct connections” with the K-pop genre.

“The fact that the [American] GI’s brought rock and roll into Korea early on and it mixed with local talent,” he said. He also called Presley the “first-ever idol” in a separate press conference, via The Korea Times.
