Funko Movie Could Be the First Ever Big Screen Crossover for Marvel and DC

News had just recently dropped that WB was working on a movie based on the popular Funko POP! figures, and though this might get some collectors excited, this could mean a whole new thing for the DC and Marvel audiences.

According to insider Daniel Richtman, the Funko movie could be the very first Marvel/DC crossover to ever come to the big screen. Several characters have been confirmed to appear including the likes of Deadpool, Wonder Woman, Darth Vader, Hellboy, and many more. With Funko's vastly expansive license on several pop culture characters, we could be looking at a crossover as huge as Ready Player One.

With Funko not really having an emphasis on original characters, my guess is that the movie will come up with a non-Funko character to be the lead, and he'll be interacting with a bunch of established faces—just like Batman from The LEGOMovie.

For now, we still don't have any more specific details from the Funko movie other than its happening. We don't even have confirmation on whether it's going to be fully animated or have a live-action element to it (like the LEGO films). Hopefully, WB makes some big announcement that will get everyone hyped for the release soon. By the looks of it, all we can do now is wait.

No release date has been announced for the Funko movie.
