Funko Movie to Include Darth Vader, Wonder Woman, Deadpool, and More

WB had made a crossover hit with the animated LEGO films, but now they have their eyes set on another line of toys—Funko.

According to SuperBroMovies' Daniel Richtman, WB is teaming up with Funko to bring to the big screen their line of adorable POP! toys. What's also interesting is, the movie will be making use of Funko's large portfolio of licensed characters. The movie is said to include the likes of Darth Vader, Deadpool, Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, Hellboy, and Hello Kitty. There will also be appearances from the Care Bears and characters from My Little Pony.

We don't really know what story this movie is going for, but if The LEGOMovie could give us a clue, it's likely that this film would make use of stop motion animation (at least the look of it). We don't have the confirmation on whether it's animated or live-action, but hopefully we get some updates soon.

Seeing that Funko's popularity comes from its pop culture figures, I'm guessing we could have some human character in the middle of the film who is either some Funko collector or someone entirely new to the figures. Unlike LEGO, Funko doesn't really have room for original characters, so my guess is an original character will be created for the movie.

Like I said, until we get an official update, anyone's guess for the plot is as good as mine. With the massive success of the LEGO movie franchise, I'm sure this Funko film is going to be able to find its audience. Heck, if the Emoji Movie could happen, I'm sure this film is going to succeed.

No release date has been set for the Funko movie.
