Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood 2019 Blu-Ray Box Set Announced

Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemist is one of the best anime and manga franchises ever since it was initially released eighteen years ago, and it even got two different anime adaptations. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is the better anime adaptation, and fans will be able to experience it again with a complete 11-disc Blu-ray box set coming this April.

The announcement, made by Aniplex (via Crunchyroll), revealed that Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood will be released on April, and it will cost fans 41,040 yen (about $348 USD). The 11-disc Blu-ray set includes the entire series, soundtrack CDS, four of the special OVA episodes originally released as bonus materials in various home video releases of the anime, and a special booklet. There's also new cover art illustrated by the anime's character designer, Hiroki Kanno.

Created by Hiromu Arakawa for Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in 2001, Fullmetal Alchemist is a story about two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, who learn alchemy so that they could resurrect their dead mother. However, after a terrible mistake, the Elric brothers pay a horrible price with Alphonse losing his body and linking his soul to a suit of armor and Edward losing his right arm. As the two brothers go on a quest to search for alchemy that could restore their bodies to their original forms, they join the military and deal with various ethical, moral, and political issues.
