Frank Castle Will Finally Evolve Into The Punisher In Season 2

Netflix might have been chopping off Marvel Netflix series like Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and more recently, the critically-acclaimed Daredevil, but it looks like The Punisher's still alive and kicking, gearing up for its second season on the streaming platform.

Now, as fans wait for the new episodes to drop, The Punisher showrunner Steve Lightfoot has decided to give fans some new deets about the upcoming season. Speaking in an interview with Collider, the producer opened up about the theme of The Punisher season 2.

"If you ask, ‘What is the theme of Season 2?' It's about Frank really adopting the mantle of The Punisher," Lightfoot told the publication.

It looks like Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle is going to go all out during the next season and that only means one thing – more graphic violence and blood.

According to Lightfoot, season 2 won't start in New York City, instead, the series will take Frank Castle on a tour around the country, only having him return home to take care of some loose ends. The first few episodes of The Punisher's newest season will feature Frank "getting a look at the country he fought for but has never really seen."

This version of Frank might start off casual during the start of the new season, but soon enough he's going to evolve into his signature comic book look.

"This year, when he puts it on, we figured out a very intelligent, very tactical reason, a very psychologically tactical reason to wear it. It makes a lot of sense," Bernthal told the news outlet.

It's definitely going to be an exciting season with fans witnessing the true evolution of the Punisher. Hopefully, Netflix keeps this series alive.

The Punisher season 2 drops on Netflix sometime January 2019.
