Former Daredevil Showrunner Reacts To Season 4 Cancellation

Although Daredevil has enjoyed three amazing seasons, there is little doubt that the show's freshman season is the most memorable one. Not surprisingly, former showrunner Steven DeKnight is disappointed that Netflix has decided to cancel the beloved Marvel series.

DeKnight is the man responsible for Daredevil's seminal first season with its unforgettable hallway fight scene and the stunning season finale (which he also directed). Although DeKnight is no longer a part of the series, he still expressed disappointment over the show's cancellation. Take a look at his tweet below.

"Deeply saddened by the news. Honored to have been a part of it," DeKnight wrote.

Netflix announced the show's cancellation with a somber statement.

"Marvel's Daredevil will not return for a fourth season on Netflix. We are tremendously proud of the show's last and final season and although it's painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note."

The statement also praised the show's cast and crew.

"We're thankful to our partners at Marvel, showrunner Erik Oleson, the show's writers, stellar crew and incredible cast including Charlie Cox as Daredevil himself, and we're grateful to the fans who have supported the show over the years," the streaming giant said.

The news is truly devastating considering that Daredevil has just finished its third season, which seemed to hint at what would happen in Season 4. Oleson had even pitched his ideas for another season to Netflix earlier in November. Unfortunately, it looks like the Man Without Fear will not get to face the new Bullseye.

Daredevil Season 3 is still streaming on Netflix.
