Seungri To Finish Prison Time

The former BIGBANG member is set to be released from prison on Feb. 11, Money Today revealed.

The Bang Bang Bang hitmaker was sentenced to one year and six months imprisonment by the Supreme Court of South Korea in May after reportedly showing guilt for his actions. He originally had to spend three years in prison following his guilty verdict to nine charges, which included assault, threatening, embezzlement, illegal overseas gambling, solicitation of illegal prostitution, and spread of illegally filmed sexual content.

The court eventually upheld the latter sentence.

Seungri only pleaded guilty to violating foreign exchange policies related to overseas gambling.

Ahead of his release, the public expressed their concerns he might resume his activities on YouTube. Others, however, expect him to stay low until the environment becomes less hostile toward him.

The Burning Sun Scandal emerged after former singer Jung Joon Young underwent an investigation and received charges for secretly filming sexual acts.

Seungri served as a creative director and shareholder in the nightclub, which was founded in 2018. He and more famous people in the industry had been named in several allegations surrounding the business.

Although Seungri has not confirmed his plans after he retired from the entertainment industry, the public also offered major disapproval to him as they urged everyone not to allow him to return to any industries again.

Last year, 3,507 Korean adults participated in a survey (shared by a news outlet) which showed that 66.4 percent of the responders said Seungri should never promote again. Following him on the list are Go Young Wook, Steve Yoo, G.Na, and MC Mong.
