First Star Wars Resistance Poster Gives New Look at Series Characters

Disney and Lucasfilm have released the first poster for Star Wars Resistance, giving us a better look at the series' new characters. It uses the same art style as the series so fans who don't like the CGI animation used there won't like how this poster looks though it does do its job.

Featuring BB-8, protagonist Kazuno Xiono, and three of the series' new characters, the poster has the tagline "some heroes stick to the plan, others wing it." This would have been a great tagline for a Poe Dameron series but he is part of the cast in what looks to be a mentor role. At least he will still be voiced by Oscar Isaacs.

Resistance has been praised and criticized for the aforementioned art style being used, which is cel-shaded and clearly anime-inspired. Anime has been a big influence on some of the West's best-animated features like Avatar: The Last Airbender so I don't see what the anger is all about. We will have to wait and see if the writing is good though.

Star Wars Resistance premieres on October 7. It is the third CGI animated series based on the popular franchise, following Rebels and Clone Wars. We're also getting the final season of Clone Wars soon, as revealed during SDCC.
