First Poster for Steven Universe the Movie Gives Look at New Villain

Steven Universe had pretty much wrapped up the main conflict with the Diamonds in the show, but Cartoon Network is pumping out a full movie by the end of this year. What's cool is, we now have a poster for the film, and it gives us a look at the new villain.

Besides the villain looking like Jenny from My Life as a Teenage Robot, the poster seems to signify a time jump from the end of the series. You can see that Steven has significantly grown this time, and the rest of the Crystal Gems are keeping the look they got from the finale.

We don't have an official plot synopsis for the film yet, but we do have this tagline:

"Steven thinks his time defending the Earth is over, but when a new threat comes to Beach City, Steven faces his biggest challenge yet."

Fans will also be pleased to know that this film will also be a musical, and there will be some original music from series creator Rebecca Sugar as well as collaborators Chance the Rapper, Estelle, Aimee Mann, and more. Some other returning guest stars include Patti Lupone (Yellow Diamond), Lisa Hannigan (Blue Diamond), Charlyne Yu (Ruby), Erica Luttrell (Sapphire), and Uzo Aduba (Bismuth).

I'm crossing my fingers we also get appearances from local Beach City characters like Sadie, Ronaldo, Mr. Smiley, and Lars.

No release date has been set for Steven Universe the Movie, but hopefully we get an announcement come SDCC 2019 later this month.
