Cartoon Network Announces A 'Steven Universe' Movie

A lot of Steven Universe fans had thought the series has ended with Season 5's Change Your Mind, but it's been confirmed that the show isn't over yet. Just in, Cartoon Network has announced as Steven Universe movie for this Fall.

Here's the official post:

The teaser for the movie had actually been released July of last year, but we've barely been getting any updates on it. At least now, Cartoon Network has confirmed a release window, and we know the project hasn't been canceled in any way.

As far as the series goes, a lot of people are convinced that Steven Universe had ended, what with the entire conflict with the Diamonds resolved. It was what the entire show was building up to, and as a fan, it feels impossible to think what could be next but a bunch of filler episodes of Steven living his life in Beach City.

This teaser for the movie does seem to tease a whole new villain though, and I can't wait to see who it is and where they come from. Are they a higher being than White Diamond? Where do all the cosmic entities stop?

I just kind of hope that there's actually more planned for the show and Rebecca Sugar and her team aren't just coming up with new storylines now. What I loved about Steven Universe was its amazing world-building, and you can be 60 episodes in and you find out about things in the first season.

Catch the Steven Universe movie when it comes out this fall.
