First Look at the ‘Ghostbusters’ Villain in New York Toy Fair

The trailer for Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot is less than a month away, but the New York Toy Fair this week has gotten ahead and released a toy which appears to be one of the villains in the franchise.

Sony Pictures has set the Ghostbusters trailer is set for a March 3 release. With Pixel Dan's photo, it appears Rowan, who is based on the iconic "No Ghosts" logo, will now be included in the reboot's cast.

Other ghostly characters included in the toy fair is a winged demon as well as the beloved green Slimer.

Last week, we also showed the winged demon as appearing in the Ghostbusters LEGO, so it's highly likely that the character will be another villain in the reboot.

Ghostbusters lead cast include Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon. Other stars joining the cast is Chris Hemsworth as the new secretary of the team, Michael K. Williams as Hawkins, Matt Walsh as Rourke, Andy Garcia as the Mayor of New York, and Neil Casey as the villain.

I know it's hard to rely on merchandise to determine which characters will appear in a movie, but if the New York Toy Fair has indeed teased something that we'll see in Ghostbusters, it would be interesting to know how the team came up with their logo. It would seem the reboot will involve some sort of an origin story.

Ghostbusters is slated for release on July 15.
