First Dragon Ball Project Z Trailer Released

Bandai Namco has finally unveiled the first trailer of Dragon Ball Project Z and it looks beautiful. The game is an action RPG that retells the events of Dragon Ball Z in the eyes of Son Goku. The game will be coming out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime this year, so Dragon Ball fans have a lot to look forward to.

Unfortunately, the trailer showed very little gameplay, though it did show a number of fun highlights from Goku's life. The video shows Goku taking on Piccolo, Nappa, and Frieza, which means we could have some epic boss fights when the game comes out. Right now, the trailer shows the Saiyan and Frieza arcs, though we're all hoping the game reaches the Buu Saga and more.

Since this is being built up as an action-RPG, it will be interesting to see what kind of gameplay mechanics are in the game. Once again, the only gameplay footage seen in the trailer was Goku walking briefly through different areas.

To the disappointment of many, it seems like Goku is the only playable character thus far. Granted, this is the first trailer, so it's possible that Vegeta, Gohan, and Piccolo will get their time to shine.

No release date for Dragon Ball Project Z has been announced, though it will come out this year.
