It's hard to believe that Avengers: Infinity War premiered a month ago but we're still crying and wondering if there is dust in our eyes. The film blew away our expectations and is easily one of the most epic superhero movies ever released, so there is a lot of pressure on the sequel to do better. While we don't even know what it will be called, a synopsis for Avengers 4 has recently been released.
Admittedly, the short synopsis shown in an issue of License Global (via ComicBook.com) is pretty vague but it does lend itself to some interesting possibilities. In the meantime, fans will have plenty to theorize about until a trailer or two comes out.
"A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it."
The fact that the synopsis mentions big sacrifices could mean more deaths are on the way, which isn't a huge surprise for those in the know. Chris Evans' contract is up after Avengers 4 and no one knows if Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, or Mark Ruffalo are still staying on. Bringing up the fragility of reality could also lead to the previously mentioned time travel theory.
One or more of these characters will likely perish and we can expect plenty of tears because of that, even if it does result in some of the previously killed characters coming back to life.
Avengers 4 hits theaters on May 3, 2019.
