#FireGinaCarano Trends as Mandalorian Star Continues to Post Alt-Right, Anti-Mask Support

While The Mandalorian has generally been receiving good reviews, one star in particular has been getting a lot of flak online—Gina Carano a.k.a. Cara Dune. Carano has been notorious for supporting some alt-right views on Twitter, and now the hashtag #FireGinaCarano has started going around because of her more recent posts.

For context, Carano had been posting suggestions of voter fraud when it came to the 2020 US elections, and she has also been expressing some anti-mask sentiments amid the pandemic.

What's more, she has joined the new Parler app, which is said to be something akin to Twitter, but said to be more inclusive of right wing users.

This has prompted people to tweet #FireGinaCarano so as Disney would remove Carano from her celebrity platform, seeing as her views are considered to be more harmful when it comes to the social climate.

Despite the hashtag, Carano has always remained adamant with her stance, and has been posting inspirational quotes to get by (along with some other anti-mask, pro-Trump sentiments).

For now, Disney doesn't seem to be budging when it comes to the case of Carano, and they haven't been doing anything to hide her return in the second season of The Mandalorian. If anything, the character of Cara Dune should be held separate from Carano, and Carano is very well in her rights to spout her beliefs. Some fans are just choosing to reconcile their love for the character and their distaste for Carano's recent tweets.

Catch Carano in the second season of The Mandalorian now on Disney+.
