Finn Jones Describes How The Defenders Sets Phase 2 Of The Marvel/Netflix Universe

It looks like The Defenders is going to help set up the second phase of the Marvel Netflix Universe.

Of course, with the superhero mash-up series coming out a year ahead of all of the respective new seasons of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, it's hard not to expect the events of The Defenders changing the course of the Marvel Netflix universe and Finn Jones describes a few of the things that the series changes.

In a new interview with The Digital Spy, the Game of Thrones star who now plays the part of Marvel TV's Danny Rand discusses how The Defenders launches a new phase in the Marvel Netflix universe.

"Let's just say there are certain events that happen at the end of The Defenders which are going to rock everyone's world. So people aren't going to be the same after the end of The Defenders […] Me and Mike get on really well, we have a natural good chemistry. The way that Marco's written Danny and Luke is really clever – it's not on the nose, and it feels relevant. The pairing feels relevant, which I think is the most important thing."

Jones hinting that Iron Fist and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) could team up outside of The Defenders is a pretty exciting prospect, after all the two New York heroes used to have a whole comic book series showing off their tandem.

The Defenders premieres August 18, 2017.
