Find Out Who Holds The Infinity Stones In Marvel's Infinity Countdown

Marvel has revealed more details regarding the publishers 2018 Infinity event. While the event doesn't have a name yet, there will be a prelude series called Infinity Countdown that reveals who the current Infinity Stone wielders are. Furthermore, it will "disassemble" the Guardians of the Galaxy, which somewhat explains why the group's series was canceled with issue #150.

Infinity Countdown Prime #1 will kick off the series. This is a 48-page one-shot written by Gerry Duggan and drawn by Mike Deodato Jr. Duggan also wrote Guardians of the Galaxy and will be the architect behind the Infinity Countdown event, which will be drawn by his Guardians collaborator Adam Kuder. It goes without saying that Infinity Countdown: Adam Warlock #1 will also be important to the 2018 event.

The wielders of the Infinity Stones are as follows: Wolverine (Space Stone), Captain Marvel (Reality Stone), Gamora (Power Stone), Adam Warlock/Magus (Soul Stone), Super Skrull (Time Stone), and Loki (Mind Stone). Marvel Legacy #1 showed that Loki was also interested in the Space Stone but Wolverine killed his Ice Giants and took off with it.

How this will disassemble the Guardians hasn't been explained but it will be interesting to see how that happens. Marvel has also confirmed that the event will also include the Avengers, the X-Men, and Spider-Man, among others. Guess all that talk about not having line-wide events was all for naught.

Infinity Countdown Prime #1, by Gerry Duggan and Mike Deodato, arrives in February. Infinity Countdown #1 follows in March from Duggan and artist Aaron Kuder, with covers by Nick Bradshaw.
