Final Fantasy XV Gets A Smartphone Version With Chibi Character Models

It looks like no gamer is being left behind for Final Fantasy XV, now that a smartphone version of the game is coming. This is a day after Square Enix announced a PC port of the game, which comes with all of the updates and DLC from the console's season pass. Unlike the PC version however, the mobile version will be an episodic title with chibi character models.

Despite the graphical change, the episodic title will be retelling the same story seen in the console version. From what can be seen in the trailer above, it looks like the game will be fully-voiced, which fans will appreciate. The voice acting seems to be ported straight from the console version, which isn't a bad thing since the actors involved were excellent.

Here is the full description from the YouTube video:

Releasing in Fall 2017, with a cute art style that will appeal to mobile and existing players alike.
Experience an exciting addition to the Final Fantasy XV Universe in the form of an all-new mobile adventure for iOS, Android devices, which retells the story of Final Fantasy XV like never before using casual touch controls optimised for mobile devices.
Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition contains all of the main characters and main story of the console and PC versions, with the freedom to play whenever and wherever you want.
All 10 episodes will be available from Day 1 and the first episode will be available for free when Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition releases later this year.

Since the game has "casual touch controls," it will be interesting to see if the massive open-world is still a part of the mobile version of Final Fantasy XV. The open-world was arguably the best aspect of the game, with many fans claiming that it saved the title from mediocrity, due to it's unfinished story.

All 10 episodes of Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition hit iOS and Android devices this fall. The PC version of the game comes out in early 2018. The console version is available now on PS4 and Xbox One, along with the season pass.
