Square Enix is pretty excited about the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake, going all out with the marketing when it comes to trailers. They decided to go even further beyond by releasing the opening movie to this highly-anticipated remake, which is a norm for video games these days but is pretty shocking since the game doesn't come out till April. Maybe they're still going by the original marketing plan but it does make us fans want the game even more.
The opening movie, which is five-minutes long, takes us through Migar, letting us know the area even more before (spoilers?) it all goes downhill as the town becomes nothing near the end. It's still pretty cool seeing the opening movie in its entirety like this and should do a good job at getting players attached to this fictional realm.
Considering how Final Fantasy VII Remake will only take place in Midgar, making us care about the area before it blows to smithereens is a good call. We're also expecting some missions with Jesse, Biggs, and Wedge before they (spoilers again?) die by the game's end. It was already sad when they died in the PlayStation original and seeing them die again in glorious HD will make a lot of people sad.
Due to the one month delay, Final Fantasy VII Remake will be coming out on April 10 instead of the original March 3 release date. Future installments for the game are expected, which will likely introduce Yuffie, Cait Sith, and Vincent Valentine to the mix. Hopefully, they're released as DLC since it will feel more, erm, appropriate for the current gaming climate, for the lack of a better term.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming to PS4 on April 10 and will come to other gaming systems a year or so later.
