Fate/strange Fake Release Gilgamesh

With the anime’s premiere just a few days away, Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn is hyping up its release with two new trailers that highlight different characters.

While there have been many Fate anime shows over the past years, this latest project is not a TV anime.

Instead, it is an anime film made for TV that will be broadcast in Japan this weekend.

This anime is one that many Fate fans have long been excited about. But considering how convoluted the franchise is, it might be confusing for newer or more casual fans to know how exactly strange Fake fits into the series.

Fate is arguably one of Japan’s most popular media franchises thanks to several popular anime titles and a mega-hit gacha game that continues to be one of the country’s top-earning games.

Among anime fans, the series is perhaps synonymous with the Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works and Fate/Zero anime by ufotable, and the Fate/Grand Order Babylonia series by A-1 Pictures.

While Stay Night and Zero are connected, Grand Order exists in a different universe.

This is also the case with many other Fate projects, including the upcoming strange/Fake anime.

Fate/strange Fake is based on the light novel series of the same name by Ryohgo Narita, the renowned author of series such as Durarara!! and Baccano!

While the series’ story is tangentially connected to the events of Fate/Stay Night, many consider it to be a standalone story. Or at least, many believe it happens in an entirely different timeline.

Fate/strange Fake Gets Assassin and Berserker Trailers

We’ve seen several trailers for the show over the past months, but now, two new trailers have been shared to further hype up the premiere. Each trailer centers on different characters.

For instance, the first new trailer focuses on Assassin (voiced by Lynn), who is summoned by Jester Karture.

Specifically, the trailer shows Assassin being summoned in the series’ fake Holy Grail War.

The next trailer, meanwhile, is for Berserker, though it mostly features Flat Escardos, the master of Berserker in the anime.

Also appearing in the trailer is Lord El-Melloi II, a fan favorite among several Fate titles.

Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn will release on July 2, 2023, in Japan.

Though ahead of its TV broadcast, the anime film will be screened at Anime Expo on July 1, 2023.
