Fans are about to see a different Joe Keery as he now joins the cast of the upcoming Fargo Season 5, FX announced on Monday, August 8. Though the role he’s about to play is yet to be revealed, it’s expected to be quite different from his Stranger Things role as Steve.
Aside from Keery, there will be new other faces joining Fargo Season 5. So, who will they be? Read on.
The New Faces Joining Fargo Season 5
Though no details have been revealed about Keery’s character, his name in the series is known as Gator Tillman.
The 30-year-old star rose to prominence for his role in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. His other credits include Death to 2021, Chicago Fire, Empire, Sirens, No Activity and more.
Aside from Keery, Lamorne Morris was also announced to join Fargo Season 5. She will play the role of Witt Farr, per TVLine.
Morris was seen as the cat lover Winston in New Girl for seven seasons and the comic strip artist Keef in Woke for two seasons.
Lastly, Richa Moorjani will also be part of the new season of the FX series as Indira Olmstead. She’s famously known as Kamala in the Netflix coming-of-age comedy Never Have I Ever, which the third season recently dropped.
Fargo Season 5 Plot
The upcoming Fargo Season 5 will be set in the year 2019. Its plot will be about a kidnapping, with a question asking, “When is a kidnapping not a kidnapping, and what if your wife isn’t yours?”
The new season’s leads will be Juno Temple, Jon Hamm and Jason Leigh. Series creator Noah Hawley will also return as the showrunner.
FX formally announced the show’s renewal in February.
The Previous Season’s Theme
As an anthology series, fans can expect to see different stories every season. It has been nearly two years since the fourth season ended, and it was inspired by the movie with the same by Joel and Ethan Coen, per Entertainment Weekly.
The show shifted its tone slightly compared to its predecessors, led by Chris Rock. The stand-up comedian, who turned controversial earlier this year after the Will Smith slap incident at the Oscars, played the role of Loy Cannon.
He led the African American syndicate, along with a stellar cast like Jason Schwartzman, and Ben Whishaw, among others, as they went against the Italian mafia in the 1950s Kansas City.
With that said, no one knows what theme Fargo Season 5 will feature when it releases. Hence, fans have to wait for more updates, probably coming in a few weeks or months, along with its release date.
