It's official! We can now confirm that Warner Bros. Pictures has found Johnny Depp's replacement for Fantastic Beasts 3 and it's none other than Mads Mikkelsen who was rumored for weeks to be the top choice for the role. In case you haven't been keeping up with the news, Depp was requested by WB to step down from the project following the onslaught of controversies surrounding his personal life.

Some fans aren't exactly thrilled with the idea of the Doctor Strange and Rogue One star taking Johnny's place in the franchise. In fact, there are people who voiced their displeasure over this new development, and some of them are actually putting the blame on Mikkelsen for accepting the part. See some of the harsh reactions below:

I mean, you can't really fault Mikkelsen for accepting the role and I find it beyond ridiculous how some fans are putting the blame on him. Sure, the entire situation must suck for Johnny Depp but is there really anything we can do at this point? Absolutely not. No amount of whining and complaining will ever change WB's decision and that's something we should all come to terms with. Mikkelsen is an outstanding actor who will give the role of Grindelwald justice and he doesn't deserve to draw flak for taking on the project.

That said, Fantastic Beasts 3 is slated for release in 2022.
