Fantastic Beasts 3 has been Delayed?

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald came out last year to a disappointing critical reception, but the third movie continues to push forward. Fantastic Beasts 3 was set for a release next year, but it looks like WB has delayed it in favor of another film.

According to Hypable, it was originally thought that Fantastic Beasts 3 would be coming out Nov. 20, 2020, but since the production of the movie has been delayed to later this year, they've given the release date to Denis Villeneuve's upcoming Dune film.

We don't have any official reason for the delay in production, but it's very likely that they want to get the story right for the film so that the franchise doesn't fall apart. After all, Fantastic Beasts is lined up for three more films. Another critical bomb like Crimes of Grindelwald, and we may never see the end of this era of Wizarding World films.

Personally, I would have preferred that J.K. Rowling would stick to what Star Wars did and not rely so much on character legacies and secret relatives. At this point, she's written herself into a corner, and it's becoming evident with the last film's lengthy expositions that she hasn't fully grasped the idea of writing screenplays yet.

If anything, I would have preferred to have just stuck to Newt's animal wrangling adventures instead of following Dumbledore and Grindelwald's fight. In fact, they could have just written a whole bunch of anthology films and saved Dumbledore and Grindelwald their own movie.

That's just my opinion anyway.

No release date has been announced for Fantastic Beasts 3.
