It's been a rough couple of months for Henry Cavill who made some pretty intriguing career choices that might have derailed his own momentum. In October, the 39-year-old British actor made it known that his future as Superman is looking more promising than ever under the new DC Studios banner. Days later, Cavill shocked fans after announcing his departure from the hit Netflix fantasy series The Witcher.

There have been conflicting reports regarding Henry's true decision for stepping down as Geralt of Rivia and passing the reins over to Liam Hemsworth who will officially take over the role in Season 4. However, the majority of his fans are under the impression that it had something to do with his supposed comeback as the DCU's Man of Steel.

Well, this is where things get incredibly intriguing. It turns out that DC Studios doesn't have concrete plans for the Man of Steel sequel, let alone the actor's rumored comeback to the franchise. According to a bombshell scoop from The Hollywood Reporter, the long-awaited project which was originally promised to Cavill several years ago is up in the air.

It was also revealed that he filmed a cameo sequence for The Flash but it won't be part of the film's final cut. The whole ordeal has fans feeling sorry for Cavill and most of them took to social media to address the situation, with the presumption that his decision to exit The Witcher ended up being detrimental to his career. As it stands, it remains unclear whether THR's report is 100% accurate, especially after James Gunn himself broke his silence on Twitter. While the DC Studios co-head didn't exactly spill the tea, he claims that the report isn't entirely factual. Hopefully, Cavill still has a place in the "new" DCU because the hype his return generated was astronomical.

The Witcher Season 3 is expected to drop sometime in 2023.
