Fans of Johnny Depp celebrate the veteran actor's Hollywood career by watching some of his best movies. The fan-made event was done last December 17, where fans encouraged one another to help support the actor by streaming his movies. The fans used hashtags such as #DeppMovieNight and #Deppcember which garnered thousands of posts with fans watching several of the actor's famous movies.
"Get ready for the #DeppMovieNight celebration on the 17th of #Deppcember. 24 hours of streaming your favorite Johnny Depp movies with your friends and families to show that #WeStandWithJohnnyDepp," one fan posted, including a virtual ticket for the Depp movie marathon.
The celebration of Depp's work came at the same time as the release of the Stephen King adaptation, The Stand on CBS All Access. The series stars Depp's ex-wife Amber Heard, who has been locked in a public legal feud with the actor. Due to the allegations made by the actress that Depp accused her, the actor's career started going downhill. Depp was even asked to leave his role on the Harry Potter's spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and reportedly, he may not come as the iconic Jack Sparrow on Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean.
Although there is not exactly an announcement that the event was a way to protest against the release of The Stand. The circumstances are undeniable wherein fans chose to stream Depp's work when Heard's show was released on a streaming service. Fans are celebrating Depp's work by watching his movies and sharing the movies they are watching on social media.
