When the Infinity Saga culminated in 2019, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were left wondering what the franchise's next move would be. Some people were even skeptical that the franchise will cease to exist and be as successful after a full decade of box office dominance. Obviously, the folks over at Marvel Studios have plenty of tricks up their sleeves and now that we're in Phase Four, things are only going to get more chaotic with the Multiverse concept coming into play.
So far, Marvel's projects for this year are already preparing fans for a wild multiversal ride that will all lead to the highly anticipated Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. So far, we still know very little about the project but rumors came swirling in yesterday that it will feature returning characters from all three Marvel film franchises — the MCU, FoxVerse, and Sony.
After tipster Daniel Richtman revealed on Twitter that Scarlet Witch will be facing off against a popular X-Men character, the entire MCU fandom quickly started speculating as to which character Wanda Maximoff will be going up against. Unsurprisingly, Jean Grey's name quickly entered the conversation and a lot of people believe that Doctor Strange 2 could mark Sophie Turner's return to the Marvel realm.

Although the way Fox ended its mutant franchise was met with negative reviews from both fans and critics, some people still believe that Turner was actually a pretty decent Jean Grey all things considered. Personally, I'd love for Marvel to move on from the FoxVerse and start fresh with the upcoming X-Men reboot but if plans actually call for actors like Sophie to make their way to the MCU, I'll still be up for it. I mean, it'd be nice to finally see her redeem herself as Jean Grey.Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will hit cinemas in March 2022.
