Many fans believe that Wanda Maximoff is one of the most overlooked characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and for the longest time, the Sokovian Avenger has always played second fiddle in the franchise. Of course, everything changed as we welcomed Phase Four with one of the most-talked-about MCU projects of the year WandaVision which pretty much served as Maximoff's coming out party.
Now that she has officially embraced her destiny as the Scarlet Witch, it's safe to assume that the fan-favorite Marvel hero played by Elizabeth Olsen will be one of the main faces franchise heading forward and considering Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige is a bonafide Scarlet Witch fan himself, we can expect her to play a vital role in the MCU in the coming years.
Now, according to insider Daniel Richtman, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will see Wanda face off against a popular character from Fox's defunct X-Men film universe. The oftentimes reliable tipster says that he's not allowed at this point to actually spoil which character it would be so I guess we'll just have to wait for the actual film.

It's still a little too early to tell for sure but what if Maximoff actually faces off against Jean Grey? For years now, film and comic fans have pitted the characters against one another and there has been a long-standing debate as to which mutant is far more superior. The multiverse is already shaping up to be a pretty wild place so virtually anything can happen at this point but I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel is actually saving up the titanic clash between Jean and Wanda for Phase Five.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will hit cinemas in March 2022.
