We're only a few months away from the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home and for some strange reason, both Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have yet to give us the project's first official sneak peek which is a little odd when you think about it. Still, despite the lack of content, a lot of webheads are pretty convinced that the Marvel Cinematic Universe's third Spider-Man flick will see the respective returns of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
Garfield has previously denied the rumors linking him to No Way Home and claims that he's not showing up in the project. Meanwhile, Maguire has been off the radar for years now but according to one fan who recently spotted him in New York, the "OG" big-screen Spidey gave him an equally intriguing and promising update regarding his potential involvement in the highly-anticipated film.
A photo of Instagram user @caldas_portugal and Magure is currently making the rounds all over social media. The photo in question was allegedly taken just recently and according to the fan himself, he asked Maguire if he's actually part of No Way Home's cast, to which the actor responded with a wink and a smile.
The 46-year-old star also told the fan that he can't talk about the project, seemingly giving a direct hint that we'll see his version of Spider-Man make his triumphant return. Check out the image here:
Marvel and Sony can deny Maguire and Garfield's involvement in Spider-Man 3 all they want but I have a strong feeling that they will in fact make their MCU debut in the project. I've talked about this countless times over the last couple of months, Tobey and Andrew not appearing in No Way Home will be the biggest missed opportunity in superhero film history and I'm 100% positive that both studios won't let something so huge slip through their fingers.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is slated for release on December 17, 2021.
