Out of all the Marvel Cinematic Universe projects that are coming out on the big screen this year, Spider-Man: No Way Home is arguably the one that has generated the most buzz over the last couple of months thanks to the confirmation that both Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina will be starring in the film to reprise their villainous roles as Electro and Doc Ock respectively. Naturally, this led to speculation that both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will also be involved in the project which is heavily being rumored to be the MCU's live-action version of the Spider-Verse.

Unsurprisingly, the two actors in question have kept mum about the online gossip surrounding their alleged casting in the MCU flick. Tobey, who's been keeping things lowkey in his life for years now has yet to address the matter. However, Andrew is finally breaking his silence regarding the rumors linking him and his version of Spidey to No Way Home. In a recent conversation with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the British actor has officially debunked the rumors.

Garfield said: "Dude, it's f***ing hilarious to me, because it's like -- because I do have this Twitter account and I see like how often Spider-Man is trending and it's like people freaking out about a thing. And I'm just like 'Guys... guys, guys, guys, like, I wish I could just be able to speak to everyone and say... I recommend that you chill."

Of course, his declaration doesn't exactly say much considering the fact that Marvel actors are oftentimes obligated to maintain a level of secrecy when it comes to these projects. Now, while I'm in no position to confirm whether or not both Maguire and Garfield will show up in the film, I have a strong feeling that they'll actually end up swinging in Earth-616. The only way we can prove that Andrew is telling the truth is in December when his version of Peter Parker/Spider-Man doesn't show up in the film but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits cinemas in December.
