Famke Janssen Says She's Done With X-Men Films

The last time we saw Jean Grey in the X-Men universe was when she was resurrected in the end of Days of Future Past, but with Sophie Turner taking on the role, it looks like Famke Janssen is already bowing out of playing one of Marvel's most powerful psychics.

During a panel at the Denver Comic-Con (via ComicBook), Janssen said:

"I think we're done, but it was really great while it lasted and it lasted for a long time. It's been nothing but a pleasure working not just as Jean Grey, which was such an honor because comics were so fantastic already, but then the entire cast who I got to play with, all my fellow actors, thespians who are so talented. It was just a wonderful experience. I'm very grateful."

Even if she said she was done, she did say that she was still open to reprising the role should Fox ask her to come back.

Janssen had been the face of Jean Grey for several years, playing major roles in the first three X-Men films and two smaller ones in The Wolverine and Days of Future Past. Though she may have left the superhero spotlight, fans can't forget that she was part of one of the first movies that started the superhero genre boom.

It's Sophie Turner's turn (hehe) to take the center stage when X-Men: Dark Phoenix comes out on Nov. 2, 2018.
