Ezra Miller has become synonymous with controversy and this time last year, the actor was the subject of headlines for his erratic behavior. These days, however, the star of DC's upcoming multiversal offering The Flash has been keeping things lowkey in his personal life and much to the surprise of many, the 30-year-old has managed to keep himself away from trouble.

Now, a few months ahead of The Flash's theatrical release, Ezra is resurfacing to tease what fans of the franchise should expect from his first solo outing as the Fastest Man Alive, a project that was once stuck in developmental hell.

In a new featurette (via The Direct) director Andy Muschietti and lead star Ezra Miller discuss Barry Allen's dual role in the forthcoming film. Muschietti confirms that Miller is actually playing the "other" Barry contrary to rumors that they hired a different actor who looks identical to Ezra for the role. He said: "Ezra is playing two characters, including original Barry and young Barry."

Ezra would then tease how Barry's multiversal shenanigans will have serious ramifications on the timeline. He reveals: "There’s another ‘him,’ who is co-existing in this timeline and it’s all gone wonky."

When set photos for the DCU flick first surfaced, there were persistent rumors suggesting that the "other" Barry was none other than Eobard Thawne aka Reverse Flash in disguise but Ezra's latest claims seem to put that theory out of the window. Of course, there's still a good chance that he's just playing coy about his role to prevent spoilers but we'll see when the film finally hits cinemas in a couple of months.

The Flash is scheduled for theatrical release on June 23, 2023.
