Extraordinary Attorney Woo is one of the most popular K-drama titles on Netflix, and we can't wait to see more episodes! Here's everything we know right about Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2's release date and more.

The legal drama follows 27-year-old Woo Young-woo (played by Park Eun-bin), an autistic lawyer and a graduate of Seoul National University law school with an extraordinary memory, a brilliant creative thought process, and a 164 IQ score.

She is employed by a major law firm called Hanbada, where she tackles various cases with a small team of attorneys.

The K-drama breaks down misconceptions of autistic people lacking 'emotional intelligence' and 'social skills'.

The South Korean show has set records domestically and on Netflix, where it has become the streaming giant's eighth most-watched non-English series of all time.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 1 concluded with its 16th episode in August 2022.

On Aug. 17, President Lee Sang Baek of AStory, the production company behind the K-drama, confirmed that Extraordinary Attorney Woo has been renewed for Season 2.

In a recent interview (via Soompi), the show's director Yoo In-shik mentioned that the ratings and rankings of the show are crucial to the confirmation of Season 2.

Yoo went on to say that it's difficult to gather the entire cast again and match their schedules for additional filming.

During the interview, the filmmaker shared his gratitude for the support that the show has received.

"I started off thinking that it’d be nice to make a drama that’s like a little garden where people can visit and take a break, but I feel like in an instant, it has turned into a field filled with blooming flowers," said Yoo. "I’d like to think that our viewers already had much larger and richer fields in their hearts than we expected."

ENA and Netflix haven't officially confirmed an exact release date for Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2 yet, but you can expect the second season to air sometime in 2024 or 2025.

This is based on what President Lee Sang Baek of AStory said when he confirmed that Season 2 is coming:

"Thanks to the support of many viewers, 'Attorney Woo' will return with season 2. We hope to air the second season some time in 2024. However, the process of adjusting the schedules of all of the cast members and crew will pose as a significant challenge. Nonetheless, we plan to proceed with season 2 without any cast member changes, or any changes to the production staff."

Unfortunately, there became an issue with the script since its writer, Moon Ji-won, was unable to start on the script right away.

As Soompi revealed:

“Because Moon Ji Won is currently busy with the preparations for her film, she will not be able to write the script right away. We think she will be able to start preparing the script in earnest after she wraps up her film at the beginning of next year [2024].”

With this report, the producers of the show are hopeful that the script could be completed by 2024. Without a script, however, production cannot start anytime soon.

This means that production might not start until late 2024 or early 2025.

On June 9, 2023, ASTORY confirmed that Moon Ji-won already signed a contract to write the script. Hopefully, the script can be completed right away and production can start.

We'll update this post once more information becomes available.

The first season of Extraordinary Attorney Woo featured different cases with a few of them lasting two episodes long.

Expect Season 2 to have a similar format, where Woo Young-woo and her team at Hanbada will take on a different case every episode or two.

AStory and the writers of the show haven't revealed any story details for Season 2 yet, but expect the show to develop Woo Young-woo's relationship with her mother, Tae Soo-mi, the CEO of Taesan Law Firm.

The end of Episode 16 of Season 1 didn't seem to fully resolve their story, so expect Season 2 to feature more scenes between them.

Of course, Woo Young-woo's love interest, Lee Jun-ho, is expected to have a major role in the story. Their relationship will likely be challenged once again.

Will they eventually marry? What could possibly ruin their relationship? Many fans are asking these questions now, but they will have to wait for Season 2 to find out the answers.
